Important Notice: Registration Modes for Academic Year 2024

Dear NUST Students,

We hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. As we gear up for the upcoming academic year, we want to keep you well informed about the registration modes available at NUST. This notice aims to provide clarity on the distinctions between Full-time and Part-time modes and the expectations associated with each.

Introduction to Full-time Mode and Part-time modes:
Full-time Mode: The traditional, comprehensive academic experience with a standard full workload, suitable for those fully dedicated to their studies. This is when a student registers for all the available courses for a semester. Please note that the university has adopted the hybrid-learning mode, which involves face-to-face, online, block release and other flexible learning methodology to make education flexible and accessible to all students regardless of the mode you select.

Part-time Mode: Tailored for students who are juggling work commitments, personal responsibilities or preferring a more flexible academic schedule. This means that the students choose to have a partial load for the semester i.e. only two or three courses instead of the full load of courses per semester as prescribed in the programme curriculums. These students will be working towards fulfilling academic requirements at a reduced course load per semester/per year.

Students studying on distance mode in the past will now be accommodated on part-time mode and will have classes online using the various technological tools available. It is highly recommended that all students acquire the equipment needed for this mode.

All information and important updates regarding the eLearning platform, timetable, and general enquiries will be communicated to all students in due course.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, kindly contact the coordinators below or your respective faculty officers.
